Madison, WI – Today, Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers announced he signed Act 184, bringing value-based purchasing arrangements (VBAs) to the state. The Council for Affordable Health Coverage (CAHC) is proud to have worked with state lawmakers Senator Mary Felzkowski and Representative Ellen Schutt, patient groups, drugmakers, and other stakeholders on the Act.
VBAs have been proven to lower healthcare costs by ensuring patients only pay if their therapies work. This is especially important for cancer patients and Americans living with a rare disease.
CAHC’s Campaign for Transformative Therapies (CTT) believes that encouraging VBAs for gene therapies is necessary to ensure patients can access these innovative cures.
