Washington, D.C. – The following statement is in support of health savings account (HSA) policies being considered during today’s House Ways and Means Committee markup. The statement should be attributed to Joel White, president of the Council for Affordable Coverage (CAHC).
“At a time when many Americans are deeply concerned about inflation and rising costs, the HSA policies under consideration present an opportunity for real change.
Expanding access to health savings accounts and enhancing the flexibility over how those funds are used will significantly boost the value of HSAs. These reforms will make healthcare more affordable and accessible for millions of working Americans.
Committee members have a once-in-a-generation opportunity to dramatically address the burden of rising healthcare costs without costing taxpayers a dime, they should not squander it.”
CAHC also sent a letter to the Committee ahead of this afternoon’s markup, encouraging members to include the HSA expansion policies in reconciliation; click here to read it.
