Washington, D.C. – The following statement supports the Council for Affordable Health Coverage (CAHC) and the Health Benefits Institute’s comment letter to the Employee Benefits Security Administration regarding the proposal to rescind the Final Association Health Plan (AHP) rule. It should be attributed to Joel White, president of CAHC.
“Association Health Plans expand health coverage options, lower premiums, and reduce out-of-pocket costs for millions of Americans. They allow small businesses to offer high-quality, affordable benefits that are better than what they receive now, helping to attract and retain much-needed talent. At a time when health costs are rising, the Biden Administration should expand AHPs, not take them away. Small businesses are struggling for a lifeline to help alleviate the growing burden of rising health costs.”
