The Council for Affordable Health Coverage (CAHC) team uses an aggressive, but thoughtful strategy to create change and drive our positions to the forefront of the national conversation on healthcare.
We work closely with key policymakers and staff to solve pressing healthcare issues while making it more affordable.
The impact of our work can be felt at the highest levels of government. Our work includes:
- Championing reinforcing job-based insurance, including enactment of a federal COBRA subsidy to those who lost their jobs during the pandemic, which was signed into law in 2021.
- Drafting and introducing the MVP Act, which enables value-based payment arrangements for prescription drugs
- Working to lower hospital and physician costs by leading the fight against surprise billing. Surprise billing was banned and passed as law in 2020
