CAHC joined with the Health Benefits Institute (HBI) on a letter to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services in support of the proposed Notice of Benefit and Payment Parameters (NBPP) for the 2027 plan year.
The organizations support the proposed rule’s provisions to:
- Enhance benefit design innovation by removing standardized plan requirements
- Promote no network plans to reduce costs and dramatically expand access to services
- Ensure essential health benefits requirements are consistent with the statute and that additional costs are not heaped on consumers
- Expand protections against fraud and bad actors.
CAHC and HBI believe many of the proposals included in the 2027 NBPP represent constructive improvements that will help maintain the long-term sustainability of the individual and small group markets.
