The Council for Affordable Health Coverage (CAHC), which represents employers, unions and other health care stakeholders has joined with other key trade groups to urge congressional leaders to include subsidies for COBRA plans in the next stimulus package, although the group stops short of asking for the 100% premium support included in House Democrats’ bill introduced on Tuesday.
In a letter sent Thursday (April 17), the coalition only requests that Congress consider a subsidy, not a specific level. The coalition previously sought a subsidy of at least 75%, which is closer to what employers typically pay.
